第 1 子出産後に就業を継続した（「就業継続（育休利用）」「就業継続（育休利用なし）」の合計）妻 の割合は 38.3％と大幅に増加したが、そのうち、育児休業制度を利用した妻の割合は、第 1 子出生 年が遅くなるに連れて増加している。一方、出産退職した妻の割合は 33.9％であり、2010 年以降減 少している。
