男性が家事、子育て、介護、地域活動に参加するために必要なこととして、男性の 56.5％と女性の 61.8％が「夫婦や家族間でのコミュニケーションをよくはかること」を選んでいる。「男性が家事な どに参加することに対する男性自身の抵抗感をなくすこと」については、男性が 53.3％、女性が 60.1％であり、男性に比べて女性が 5 ポイント以上上回っている。
