① 平成７年の阪神・淡路大震災で最も被害が大きかった神戸地区では、地中化された 電話回線ケーブルの被災率が 0.03％に留まったのに対し、架空線は 2.4％と大きな被 害を受けた。 なお、東日本大震災の被災状況は津波による被害が大半となっているため、掲載してい ない。
